The Bribery Act 2010 makes it an offence to promise, or give a financial advantage, to another with the intent of inducing them to perform an activity. It is also an offence to receive the bribe. These offences can be committed by individuals, companies and partnerships. If convicted of bribery, the result can be a prison sentence of up to 10 years.
