Sam joined Lloyds PR Solicitors in August 2025 as a Criminal Defence Paralegal, specialising in Crown Court matters. He provides comprehensive support to solicitors and barristers in the preparation of complex criminal and regulatory cases, whilst also working closely with the Managing Partner on strategic, operational, and business development initiatives that contribute to the continued growth and efficiency of the firm.
Alongside his legal casework responsibilities, Sam plays a key role in the testing, development, and implementation of the firm's artificial intelligence integration initiatives. He assists in the deployment of technology-driven solutions, workflow optimisation, case management procedures, and staff support programmes designed to enhance productivity, efficiency, and client service. His strong organisational skills, technical expertise, and meticulous attention to detail have enabled him to make a significant contribution to the firm's operational effectiveness.
Sam also undertakes important training and mentoring responsibilities within the firm. He supports colleagues in all aspects of Crown Court case preparation and delivers training on case management systems, MeisterTask, MindMeister, Microsoft Office applications, AI-powered legal technologies, evidential analysis and best-practice procedures. He is committed to promoting a culture of continuous professional development and knowledge sharing, helping team members embrace new technologies and more efficient ways of working.
His legal expertise encompasses Crown Court case preparation, the review and analysis of electronic evidence, financial evidence analysis, disclosure management (electronic evidence), and the preparation of legal analysis documents for Crown Court, Magistrates' Court, and Police Station matters. He regularly assists with complex case preparation and the management of substantial volumes of evidence in support of effective case strategy. Sam also plays a significant role in the handling and analysis of large-scale electronic evidence in the firm's Very High-Cost Cases (VHCCs). In addition, he assesses cases requiring Special Preparation and Unused Material Preparation, providing valuable assistance to the firm's solicitors and barristers in the effective management of complex matters.
In addition to his legal responsibilities, Sam is responsible for the preparation and administration of the firm's Duty Solicitor Rota and assists in overseeing a range of administrative functions to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the practice.
Prior to joining Lloyds PR Solicitors, Sam worked for more than nine years in various capacities within the firm's outsourcing partner organisation in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Through this experience, and by working closely with leading legal practitioners and chambers, he developed extensive multi-jurisdictional knowledge and experience in legal research, litigation support, and case management. Between 2019 and 2020, he completed a one-year training placement with Lloyds PR Solicitors, gaining valuable first-hand experience of legal practice in England and Wales.
Sam completed a Diploma in Law in 2012 and obtained his Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of London in 2015. He is currently pursuing accreditation as a Police Station Accredited Representative and is working towards qualifying as a Solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales.
